ISAIAH 10:1-3
1 "Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, who write misfortune, which they have prescribed 2 to rob the needy of justice, and to take what is right from the poor of My people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless. 3 What will you do in the day of punishment, and in the desolation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your glory?
Those who will not use power wisely will find themselves abusing it unwisely. The fallen nature of man can’t resist the allure of power; how it can elevate them over others that too often become their victims.
Yet at the same time, we recognize that no one achieves power but by either the LORD’s express will or His permission. Nevertheless, in either case, everyone will be held accountable to the Granter of power for how they’ve used it.
It’s been said, “Great men do not seek power, great men have power thrust upon them.” That’s because truly great men are humble men, who understand how power can corrupt – and they’d rather not be placed in that situation. They don’t reach for power to the gratification of their pride. Others recognize a nobility, a goodness, a strong moral center in them and deem them worthy of rule.
I’ve read that George Washington was being considered as an elected “king of America” but he resolutely declined the offer and strongly urged that America be governed by superior means.
The American people today are seeing how our government is rife with corruption, greed, deception, an overt desire to rule over others, subjugating them under perpetual domination.
What these politicians fail to realize is that Judgment Day is coming – “woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees” – when legislation is passed that will bring harm to our citizens, and rather favor non-citizens on our tax dollars; when laws are passed that will incur an ever increasing weight of taxation on the aching backs of American workers – while they give themselves superfluous and exorbitant raises and benefit packages…
When children are being relinquished to an abusive parent, and out of a desire to protect them, the other parent rescues them from their plight – and they, rather than the abuser is sent to prison. Trafficked children are ignored by those who could save them but are paid off to look the other way.
There are senior citizens who literally can’t afford to live – the cost of living far exceeds their government doled “benefits” as though they were privileges and not rights.
And even though the rights of abortion have been drastically curtailed, it’s still legal to execute the innocent in the womb – these little ones conceived but then abandoned by their biological fathers who want all of the fun but none of the responsibility in caring for what become “the fatherless” which they then rob of life.
Where will these escape to – these lawless ones who believe themselves to be above the law, and conduct themselves with impunity? There is no escape. Time is the great dragnet that’s drawing every living soul to the throne of GOD’s Judgment. Every second passed brings them closer…
They say that “all paths lead to GOD” and this is true – all paths lead to His Righteous and Holy Judgment where sin is condemned and souls are damned – all paths that is, except for one:
JOHN 14:6
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
