The following is a series of short exhortations, brief commentary and writings to convey thoughtful meditation on God's Word. I have chosen the Gospel of John as the subject. These articles will not run contiguously on this blog but peppered throughout and in the midst of other articles (though some might be posted consecutively). I pray that these will be a blessing and an edification for the saints.
JOHN 3:34-36
34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
"For he whom God hath sent..."
God the Father sent His Son to this fallen world. I can't even begin to imagine what it must have been like for the LORD Jesus - to leave the holy atmosphere of Heaven, with all of its purity, glory and goodness and come to this dank, depressing, lost world reeking with putrid sin and corruption. Nevertheless, He came and willingly so, out of a heart of love for us!

JOHN 3:31-33
31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

JEWELS From The GOSPEL Of JOHN: The INVERSION PRINCIPLE - JOHN 3:25-30
The following is a series of short exhortations, brief commentary and writings to convey thoughtful meditation on God's Word. I have chosen the Gospel of John as the subject. These articles will not run contiguously on this blog but peppered throughout and in the midst of other articles (though some might be posted consecutively). JOHN 3:25-30
25 Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.
26 And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.
27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

PUTTING IT INTO PRACTICE - The Dichotomy in Our Society
Charles Spurgeon was once told that by a visitor to his church, and he replied by saying,
"Come join the church anyway, what's one more hypocrite going to matter!"
The fact is that we all have a tendency towards hypocrisy to one degree or another; it's a part of the Human condition. All of us are tempted and even succumb to the lure of putting on an act so that people will believe better about us than we actually are.
In fact, the very word hypocrite is from the Greek word 'hippocrites' which means 'actor'.
There are many professing Christians today who claim to believe the Bible, adhering intellectually to its doctrines, and seem to follow Jesus - they know all the 'Christianese' phrases and words. And yet upon close examination, their lives are a poor reflection of what the LORD intends for His saints.

JEWELS From The GOSPEL Of JOHN: DARK & LIGHT, HATE & LOVE - JOHN 3:19-21
The following is a series of short exhortations, brief commentary and writings to convey thoughtful meditation on God's Word. I have chosen the Gospel of John as the subject. These articles will not run contiguously on this blog but peppered throughout and in the midst of other articles (though some might be posted consecutively). JOHN 3:19-21
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Natural light reveals natural things. Spiritual light reveals spiritual things. The Light that came into the world represented by the Person of Jesus Christ, Who is Himself the Light testified of the evil that was and is present in this world (JOHN 7:7); evil born of fallen angels as well as sinful humanity. With absolute certainty, this condemnation - this judgment of God, will fall upon all who reject the Light that is Christ (ROM 5:16, 18).

JEWELS From The GOSPEL Of JOHN: SAVING A CONDEMNED WORLD - JOHN 3:17-18

JOHN 3:17-18
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

JEWELS From The GOSPEL Of JOHN: TRUE LOVE - JOHN 3:14-16
The following is a series of short exhortations, brief commentary and writings to convey thoughtful meditation on God's Word. I have chosen the Gospel of John as the subject. These articles will not run contiguously on this blog but peppered throughout and in the midst of other articles (though some might be posted consecutively). JOHN 3:14-16
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
It was at the fall of man that Adam and Eve were told by God Himself, that the "seed" of the woman would crush the serpent's head, and that the serpent would bruise the heel of this One who was to come (GEN 3:15). This declaration was no doubt heralded to all generations that was to come. So much so, that in the fallen state, people began to pervert the message and conceive of their own 'savior' which in turn spawned all sorts of Messiah-wanna be's among the religions of the world (typically, anti-Christ figures and vulgar replacements).
